Michael Kenna visited the Great Wall of China in 2007. This is what he told us about Si Ma Tai Great Wall, Beijing, China, 2007, an image made during this trip which is currently on view at CEG.
“This image was made from further up the Great Wall at a very high point. I hiked to this place pre-dawn. No helicopters were involved. It is interesting that after I took this image, I then spent the next ten hours walking the wall and photographing. However, this first image remains my favorite and the only one I have printed.” – Michael Kenna
We agree, this is a fantastic image! Michael Kenna is on view at CEG May 10 – July 6, 2013. For more information about the exhibition and to see all images in the show, visit www.edelmangallery.com.
