Elizabeth Ernst recorded her Artist Talk this afternoon for her show Smoke & Mirrors. The opening reception will be tonight from 5 to 8 p.m., and Elizabeth will give a public gallery talk tomorrow, November 6 at noon. This morning we filmed Robert & Shana ParkeHarrison discussing their work as part of our continuing video series, Artist Talk. Robert & Shana will be at the opening of Beginnings tonight, and they will also be giving a public Artist Talk at the gallery on Saturday, September 11 at noon. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet these amazing artists and ask them questions about their work. We will post today’s talk on the CEG site and Cyclops Blog in the near future.

Greg Gorman was in Chicago this weekend, shooting production stills for the new Transformers movie, and he stopped by CEG to take a look at PROOF. It was a short visit, but we were able to get him to pose for a quick photo with his work before he had to rush off to the airport. Catherine just sent us this photo from her phone and asked us to guess where she and Joel were visiting. I have absolutely no idea where this could be. Does anyone with an eye for fine Swedish dining have any guesses?

*Update*

I see that you were all as stumped by Catherine’s photo as I was—since we didn’t get a single guess! It turns out the posh restaurant pictured above is *drum roll* McDonald’s. I can only assume that Joel and Catherine did not actually eat at the fast food giant.

Kenna goes color

No, Michael Kenna has not started shooting landscapes in color. He and Catherine are just having fun bantering back and forth while Michael is traveling in China. Here are some of his color BlackBerry photos.
