“Katrina Survivor” series

February 6, 2010
by Juli Lowe

The “Katrina Survivor” series is new work by Herman Leonard. These prints are reproductions of framed photographs that were almost destroyed in Herman Leonard’s New Orleans studio following Hurricane Katrina. The result are these hauntingly beautiful images with the subject’s face framed by the effects of the water. A percentage of the sales from these prints will be donated to the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic which provides access to health and social welfare services for the local music community.
